This June and July, join us at Do Space as we launch the Summer of Invention!

We’re continuing and expanding our youth programs with new themes and new times. See the Events page for details and registration.

Adults and kids can participate in The Great Prototype Challenge on Sunday afternoons. We’re sharing our prototype cart for the first time. It’s loaded with common household items and we’ll provide weekly challenges designed to kick-start creative thinking and the general making process. Don’t forget to register online at DoSpace.org!

Also new this summer are a couple of community groups for adults. The Career Meetup on Tuesday mornings (9am-12pm) is your chance to work on job applications, resumes, and more with the assistance of Do Space volunteers. Starts Tuesday, June 7th!

Looking for coworking space or a little positive peer pressure to kick start that side project you’ve been considering? Try out Coworking Thursdays every week from 3-7pm. Do Space provides the space in our meeting rooms and our gigabit wifi. You provide your own equipment and passion.

Everyone loves our Laser Cutter and 3D Printing Crash Courses and we’ve got plenty of those lined up for the summer. Level up your 3D lab skills with our Advanced 3D printing class and our Taz 5 introduction.

We’re also beginning our Reinvent Yourself series. These Tuesday evening courses relate to job searching: applications, resumes, and social media best practices. Monday evening courses include Windows 10 Crash Course, Mac for Beginners, and Microsoft Excel.

As always, Do Space is proud to partner with Interface Web school for free classes twice a month on Sundays!

June also marks the launch of Omaha’s first free code school: Hello Code. Our staff has sorted through the many applications and selected the first 30 adults for our June cohort. Another group will start meeting together in July. You can apply for July until June 20th.

And, finally, everyone can show off their Do Space activities – in our programs or on your own time – at the new website IHeartDoSpace.org. Submit a photo or text describing your Do Space experience and be entered to win a grand prize at the end of July: a Microsoft Surface Pro! We can’t wait to see what you do at Do Space and each submission is a chance to win!

To celebrate the Summer of Invention we are kicking off our programs this Saturday, June 4 from 12PM-4PM. In addition to joining us for all of the above programs, we hope that you will visit Do Space on Saturday for a preview of our Summer programs. In addition to preview events, we will also gather for an online group Q&A with a Harvard professor from Omaha whose job involves discovering new planets! All event participation is on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t miss out!
