Christine Kaiser: A School Librarian’s Perspective
Christine Kaiser, a dedicated school librarian, has found our 3D Lab to be a great resource for her classroom projects. She regularly uses our 3D filament restringer and Cricut machine for various tasks, including spinning 3D filament onto smaller rolls and cutting letters for bulletin boards. Christine shared her experience, saying:
“Your employees are amazingly helpful. The last time I was there, I accidentally brought the wrong size drill bit. They dug through their stuff and found one to loan me.”
Christine appreciates the support she receives from our staff and the quality of the equipment available:
“Do Space is great for teachers. We have some of the same equipment available at school, but yours is newer and allows for larger projects. When I initially called to ask about a device to string filament onto smaller rolls, your staff didn’t have that device, but knowing that it would be useful, they printed one and put it together. I’ve used it multiple times this year.”
Brenda Bennett: Custom Laser Cutting for a Cause
Brenda Bennett, who utilizes our Glowforge laser cutter for custom projects, loves how convenient and accessible our 3D Lab is. She highlights the ease of using our equipment:
“How easy it is to sign in and use equipment. Why would I buy a laser for home! I have one here at the library. They even have computers and tablets to use if I don’t have mine.”
Brenda designs all her laser cutouts from scratch using Adobe Illustrator and Blender 3D, primarily for a local charity:
“I design everything I cut from scratch, and they use the items I make to assemble the finished project.”
