Summer tours at Do Space are now available for booking!

We have big plans for June and July at Do Space, including new family-oriented afternoon programs, a Summer Passport for the kiddos, and a Do List for teens and adults. And each summer we offer advance reservations for youth group tours. We are pleased to once again offer a limited number of Youth Tour reservations for tours that take place between June 1 and July 31. Use this form to make your request! All tours are not final until a confirmation from Do Space is received. However, we are excited to offer a variety of themes for your visits.

Activities vary between June and July and your choices are as follows:

JUNE

  • Fun with Finches (Coding Activity)-This month, we’ll use the SNAP coding platform to solve challenges with the Finch robots. SNAP is a visual coding platform that uses boxes that snap together to create a code. Participants can use SNAP programming principles to teach this bird-shaped robot to sing, dance and drive around.
  • Pop-Up Paper Circuits (Maker Oriented)- This month, we’ll be working on paper circuitry. We’ll use origami paper, copper tape, LEDs and watch batteries to create glowing pop-up creation. By the end of the session, kids will understand creating a circuit, making a switch, and powering an LED. Because this class is crafting-heavy we ask chaperones to participate and help provide guidance.

JULY

  • Code Car (Coding Activity)- This month, we’ll use software to program Code Cars!  Download ready-made code to your car and adjust the code to make the siren blare, lights flash, or horn beep.  Because the code can be changed to suit any preference, this fun coding activity involves as much decoding as coding!
  • LittleBits Inventions (Maker Oriented)- LittleBits are easy-to-use electronic building blocks empowering everyone to create inventions, large and small. Kids will explore how to use the LittleBits, build a fun gadget, and make their own invention. We ask chaperones to participate and help provide guidance.

Please keep in mind that due to the demands of summer, we can only offer a limited number of tours and they are approved on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer tours on demand to anyone without a pre-approved appointment, although everyone is welcome to come and explore on their own.
