Do Space would not be possible without all the volunteers that contribute to our programs and assisting our members. They are the pulse of everything we do and give us the ability to offer members help in all different kinds of skills. The goal of this effort it to capture and share the people that are volunteering at Do Space and how it positively affects their lives. What led them to volunteer? What sort of impact they are making? And why they continue to contribute?

We are pleased to introduce you to one of our teenage contributors. Aarun has been a Tech Sidekick with the Do Space volunteer program since May 2017. Aarun is currently a local high school student. Our Volunteer Coordinator asked Aarun a few questions about his experience volunteering at Do Space.

What led you to volunteer at Do Space?
I was led to volunteer at Do Space in order to become more involved with the technological community around me in the Omaha area.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering at Do Space?
The thing I most enjoy about volunteering at Do Space is helping people who struggle with technology make their interactions with technology much more efficient and easy.

What  position do you hold at Do Space and how does it contribute towards Do Space mission?
I currently hold the Sidekick position here at Do Space and I contribute towards the Do Space mission primarily by assisting Do Space members with basic problems and by informing Do Space employees of more complex problems which I cannot solve.

When was a time that you felt like you made a difference and really helped a member?
One time where I felt like I made a difference was when I helped a woman adjust font and email a flyer.

What is something you would tell a friend that is thinking about volunteering?
I would tell my friend that volunteering at Do Space, being an excellent experience itself, is great due to the fact that he would be able to see the direct impact that he has on the technological community.
