Do Space would not be possible without all the volunteers that contribute to our programs and assisting our members. They are the pulse of everything we do and give us the ability to offer members help in all different kinds of skills. The goal of this effort it to capture and share the people that are volunteering at Do Space and how it positively affects their lives. What led them to volunteer? What sort of impact are they making? And why they continue to contribute?

Biraj has held the role of Explorer and Mentor at Do Space since October 2017! When Biraj is not volunteering at Do Space he is a Marketing Intelligence And Analytics Specialist at Infogroup.

What led you to volunteer at Do Space?
I have always wanted to give back to the community that has given me so many opportunities. It is my way of saying thank you.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering at Do Space?
I have always loved technology and I am thankful that I have had the opportunity to learn a lot about technology. I believe knowledge has to be shared. lots of people may not have had the same opportunities that I’ve had. I enjoy sharing what I know, especially if it helps people.

What position do you hold at Do Space and how does it contribute towards Do Space mission?
Do Space is a technology equalizer, a technology enabler, and a technology innovator. I help with tech help Tuesdays and Mentoring. I especially like the fact that anybody can come here and we will help them learn technology; if you want to learn more we will do our best to help you learn.

When was a time that you felt like you made a difference and really helped a member?
Every time I help someone I feel like I have made a difference. They leave a little more curious about tech which is what I want, to spark curiosity about tech in people, because I believe that curiosity will open new doors for people and new ideas will form and eventually those ideas will turn into innovations.

What is something you would tell a friend that is thinking about volunteering?
I would tell them that just try volunteering for 2 weeks. I guarantee that they will want to come back and help more people because nothing feels more satisfying than helping others. Plus, you get to volunteer with amazing people and who doesn’t like meeting new people?
