How Smart Will Computers Become?
November 17th, 2015 | Rachel Tepper, Operations Manager
In 1965, Raymond Moore (co-founder of Intel) predicted that computer processing speed would double roughly every two years. So far, that’s proven to be true. Computers have gone from the size of a room to roughly the size of a book, phones are now “smart” and wearable tech is more and more common. Now we’re at the point where things really get interesting as the processing speeds we’re doubling today are gigantic. Some predict that by 2025 computers will have the processing power of the human brain. Some say that doubling processing speed is increasingly difficult and projections like that are far-fetched. Whatever the answer, it’s certainly fun to ponder.
