Humans of Do Space: Meet Jessica

In the spirit of the “Humans of New York” photo series and social media phenomenon, Do Space is inspired to work with staff and volunteers to create a “Humans of Do Space” series that shares the stories of our members, volunteers, users and staff. The goal of this effort it to capture the people that are using the space and how it affects their lives. What does it allow them to do? What does it allow them to make? How are people using the space to overcome obstacles and get things done?

Meet Jessica, a Do Space Volunteer and Lifelong Learner.  Jessica currently works as a Campus Librarian at the Wright Career College.

What are you passionate about?

“Information technology, costuming & prop making, gardening, and my animals”

What does Do Space mean to you?

“To me, Do Space is infinite potential. As scary as self-directed learning can be, once you get comfortable with being able to ask yourself “What do I want to learn or do today?” and actually learning or doing it, it’s really empowering–and addicting! Do Space is the ultimate toolbox for expanding your skill set and your world. If you’ve got the will, we’ll bend over backwards to help you on your way (and we get to learn along with you!).”
