As a tech-enabler Do Space likes to point our patrons in the right direction, especially when it comes to learning resources. One of the many learning resources listed on the ‘Resources’ page of our Do Space website is a very helpful and free interactive website called Codecademy. Created in 2011 Codecademy.com is an interactive platform that offers users access to free coding tutorials in 12 different and widely used programming languages. For beginners with no coding experience this platform is a great gateway. The user interface divides your screen vertically in three. This allows you to follow the instructional guide on the left, input the code in the middle and see the results of your code live on the right. In this sense it is a great resource for visual learners that wish to begin learning code or just gain industry experience without the heavy text and reading often associated with the field. I, myself, have used it so far to expand my industry knowledge in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and the Command Line. No matter your vocation I believe engaging in Codecademy.com or one of the other similar resources out there will be highly beneficial as our economy becomes increasingly tech-reliant.
