In this class, Students will learn the fundamentals of code in Ruby including data types, variable assignments, arrays, hashes, loops, conditionals, methods, classes, and objects. By the end of this 6-week course, students are able to code small, interactive programs, such as a calculator, a number guessing game, and a rock-paper-scissors game. Participants do NOT need prior coding experience or a computer of their own to take this class.

When/Where:

This 6-week course meets at Do Space on Sundays from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, from June 12th through July 24, with a break on July 3.  This class is in person.

 

Who Should Apply:

  • This class is for middle and high school students, with a preference for students of marginalized gender, with no prerequisite required.

Mystery Code Society has a Code of Conduct.  All students and volunteers are expected to abide by the Code of Conduct.
